Welcome into the (photo)story of the first day of FIG World Cup in Bucharest. Trust my words: the whole competition was a feast for the eyes - the best of the best in rhythmic gymnastics were in Romania, at the beginning of April. Just look at these names: Yana Kudryavtseva (Russia), Margarita Mamun (Russia), Melitina Staniouta (Belarus), Yeon Jae Son (South Korea), Marina Durunda (Azerbaijan) - and you'll understand my enthusiasm. Add here the wonderful 17-year-old Russian Aleksandra Soldatova (what a talent she is!) or the French Kseniya Moustafaeva - and you'll know: Bucharest World Cup was the place to be last weekend.
The following photos were taken on Friday, April 3rd, at Sala Polivalenta, during the qualifications for Hoop and Ball. As you will see, my camera traveled constantly from the training area to the competition floor and vice versa; at the end of the day, both my camera and I were tired, but happy; such a burst of colors and emotions we had been witnessing during Day One of the event. Do pay us a visit the following days for the rest of the photos. Enjoy.

...unfortunately, during qualifications, things haven't worked out well for Aleksandra when it comes to her hoop routine. Sadness and frustration for this talented young lady.

...and the ladies are already getting ready for the next day at Bucharest World Cup: qualifications for Clubs and Ribbon are scheduled for April 4th. Make sure you'll follow us - lots of other photos are about to be published.
